Hiccup!

I hate getting the hiccups. No kidding, every time I get them, I have them for at least 15-20 minutes and they're strong ones. Ones that almost hurt. That's why I hate getting them.

When will I be able to start feeling BG's hiccups though? I thought by now I'd feel them, but still... nothing. Someone in my group said that they feel like kicks, but more rhythmic. Have you not met BG's dad? He has rhythm! So, is he just tapping to the rhythm that is naturally inside him? Or am I mistaking hiccups for kicks? Someone, please help and explain! Draw me a picture if need be.

  1. Rhythmic kicks is kind of a good way of describing what it feels like when the baby has hiccups. Except it doesn't feel so much like a kick because there's no foot or knee jabbing into you. Gideon had them aaaaalllll the time, repeatedly throughout the day (he's my son--get them once, and we're guaranteed to have them at least 2-3 more times that day); this kid is proving to be the same. You've probably felt them and thought they were kicks. Next time you've got some rhythmic bumping going on in your belly, put your hand over it and see if you feel something pushing out at your hand (not a hiccup) or if it just feels like a general bump . . . bump . . . bump (hiccup). That's how it is for me, anyway!
